JV FIREBIRDS 6TH AT BUTLER WITH A CHAMP AND 4 PLACERS

The JV Wrestling Firebirds wrestled hard on Saturday 1/25/20 and finished 6th of 23 teams at the Butler JV Classic. Leading the way was 220 pound tournament champ Eli Swallow.  Jacob Deglow and Parker Lucas were also finalists at 170 and 285, respectively.  Other solid performances were Ben Heinrich (3rd-145) and Corbin Senter (5th-152). VARSITY FIREBIRDS RUNNER-UP AT WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE

The Varsity Wrestling Firebirds wrestled strong on Saturday 1/25/20 and finished as the runner-up at the Washington Court House Bracket Tournament. The Wrestling Firebirds lost the Battle for County Line XII match to host Beavercreek 51-22 on Thursday 1/23/20. WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS OVERHOLSER 2ND / SALIH 5TH @ MAUMEE BAY CLASSIC! The Varsity Firebirds traveled to Toledo to compete in the 48-team Maumee Bay Classic.  Considered the 3rd-toughest tournament in Ohio (behind Ironman & Brecksville), we had some quality performances.  Fairmont was led by 145 lb. runner-up Evan Overholser, who defeated 3 state-level athletes (2 placers)

HAMMOND 2ND, MIRZAEV 3RD, DUPLECHIAN 5TH AT BUCKEYE CLASSIC

The Freshmen Firebirds participated in an elite 9th-grade tournament at Centerville, the Buckeye Classic.  Fairmont was led by 152 lb. runner-up Boston Hammond.  Ferman Mirzaev went 4-1 to finish 3rd at 152.  Gabe Duplechian notched a 5th place finish at 220.  Also earning W’s were Canton Denney (126), Anthony Martinez (160), and Logan Sargent (285).  

OVERHOLSER 2ND AND SALIH 5TH AT MAUMEE BAY

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS BATTLE OF FAR HILLS Took it on the chin and the sign has been taken from us.  Varsity match was more competitive than the 51-24 score, but we didn’t get the job done. Varsity W’s – Conley, Overholser, Dotson, Salih, Lucas JV/FR W’s – Carnes, Hammond, Senter, McCall. KETTERING DUALS Split a pair of duals. 

FIREBIRDS SPLIT A PAIR ON ALUMNI DAY

The Wrestling Firebirds split a pair of duals on Alumni Day, defeating West Clermont 38-27 while losing to Northmont 41-31.  The Firebirds are now 9-3 in duals on the year. Winning 2 bouts were Bryton Miller (120), Alan Guernsey (126), John Conley (138), Evan Overholser (145), Ali Salih (182), and Austin Hedges (220).  Winning 1

FIREBIRDS TAKEN DOWN BY ELKS

In the 14th installment of the Battle of Far Hills match, the host Elks took down the Firebirds 51-24. Winning for Fairmont were John Conley (138), Evan Overholser (145), Jacob Dotson (170), Ali Salih (182), and Parker Lucas (285). Winning JV/FR matches were Christian Carnes (138), Corbin Senter (152), Boston Hammond (152), Jacob Deglow (170),
