The Birds dropped a tough 1-0 decision to Wayne last night on the road. Wayne held a slight advantage in shots on goal 12-10 and found the winner with 20 minutes remaining in the second half. According to Coach Craft, from an effort and toughness standpoint, it was the most complete 80-minute performance of the season thus far. As the second half wore on, Fairmont threw numbers forward and Seth Tyson’s shot just inside the 18 struck the post and bounced out with a little over 7 minutes remaining. Senior goalkeeper Carter Haas was man of the match recording 11 saves on the evening.
The Birds drop to 0-5 on the season and 0-3 in GWOC play. They return to action tomorrow afternoon as they host Fairfield at 2:00 in non-conference action.
