PLAN:

3:15-3:30 – 50 Ball Drill:  Cross Court- corner to corner

On Court:

Dynamic Warm-Ups:

  • Cherry Pickers
  • Leg Cradle
  • Arm Circles
  • Laps
  • Stretch

Conditioning:

  • Jump Rope
  • Repeaters

Skill Building:

  • Volley Drill – goal is to use the proper footwork (step across), racquet up, and punch. We need about 1,000 balls hit
  • Doubles:
    • Cross the line – both teams up, 1 up 1 back
    • Taking the net – on lob or shot in the alley
    • Poaching – when and how to be aggressive. Where to put the volley
    • Game play

 

  • Singles:
    • Groundstroke Drill – from center to singles line
    • Marathon – 1 person runs side to side, teammates across the net (put shots away)
    • Serve and Returns
    • Pressure points – (30-40, 30-30, 40-30, 15-40, Deuce, 40-15, Love)
    • JV:
      • Serving and returns
      • Overhead practice
      • One Serve tennis
