The Centerville Elks beat the Firebirds in Girl’s Basketball action on Monday night 39-22. The Elks controlled the Firebirds from the tip and outscored the Birds early on. The Firebirds were able to put together a better second half, but were not able to keep up with the Elks. The final at Centerville was 39-22. The young Firebirds were paced by Mallory Hullinger with 10 points and also 6 rebounds. Serena Baker chipped in 5 points, Mari Carter 5 points, and Kenzie Roark finished with 2.
In JV action, the Elks won 45-10.
In the Freshman game, the Elks squeaked-out a 24-15 victory. Bella Deppen had 7 points, Clara VonHandorf had 4, and Teagan Carl and Liv Griffith both had 2 each.
The Birds are back in action at home on Wednesday vs Springboro.
