The Fairmont Firebirds were back in action on Wednesday night at Trent Arena. The Varsity came away with a 54-45 win. The Firebirds were led my Mallory Hullinger, who had a career high 27 points. Serena Baker added in 11 points and freshman Kenzie Roark had 6. The halftime score was 25-21 in favor of Northmont. The 2nd half was controlled by the Firebirds who scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to come away with the victory.
In JV action, The Firebirds won in a close contest. Cierra Hupke led all scorers with 14 points. Freshman Zoey Potts and Julianne Marcum helped lead the charge offensively. On the defensive-side, the Birds had key rebounds from Hupke, Kylee Lairmore, and Grace Buskard.
In the early game, the Freshman girls were victorious in an overtime thriller. The Birds had a complete team effort and had big stops in their press. It was an exciting game and the young birds continue to improve.
