Here is a recap of the volleyball wins this week:
The Freshman Firebirds defeated Miamisburg on Monday, 10/5. Scores were 25-17 and 25-13. They played with confidence and didn’t let the ball hit the floor. They focus a lot on serving and only missed one during the 2 set match.
The JV Firebirds defeated the Vikings in 2 sets on Monday, 10/5. The first set was filled with consistent serves and aggressive play. They were able to keep the opposing team under 15 with the score of 25-12. The next set the Vikings came out strong and the Firebirds dug themselves a hole with a 13-20 deficit. After an inspirational timeout, the firebirds dug their heels into the ground and fought back to win the second set 27-25.
The JV team took home the win against the warriors on Thursday, 10/8, by playing consistently
and aggressive. They did not let the ball the the floor. The scores were 25-7 and 25-12.
The Varsity team defeated Miamisburg on Monday, 10/5, in a five set thriller. The Firebirds played a very aggressive first set winning 25-17. Starting out down in the second set the Birds were able to fight back, but lost the battle in extra point 28-30. Eager to compete they took the third set 25-13, but lost the fourth set 19-25. Entering into the fifth set they they were determined to come out with a win. Firebirds took the fifth set 15-10 winning 3 sets to 2.
The Firebirds will compete against Beavercreek on Tuesday, 10/13. Freshman will play at 5. JV at 6. Varsity at 7 pm.
