The Fairmont Varsity Lady Bowling Team competed at the OHSAA State Tournament this past Saturday. The Lady Birds started the day out a little slow but battle through the qualifying round to sit in 3rd place to advance to the championship round (Qualifying Round Results). Sophomore Keirsten Schooler led the way for the Ladies by placing 11th with a 610 3-game series earning her All-Ohio Honorable Mention. Seniors Cheyenne Gray and Elizabeth Oster contributed solid performances with 571 (32nd) and 554 (42nd) series respectively. (Individual Results) In the 1st match of the Championship round, the Laby Firebirds beat a familiar local GWOC opponent, Miamisburg 3-1 in a best of five baker match, advancing to the Semifinals. In the Semifinals, the Lady Firebirds were able to take down a tough Wapakoneta team, 3-2, to advance to the Championship match against Gahanna Lincoln. However, the Lady Birds were unable to overcome Gahanna Lincoln falling 0-3 (Championship round Results) finishing as the 2018 STATE RUNNER_UP, ending a GREAT SEASON!!

On Friday, Senior Keith Schooler competed as an individual at the 2018 OHSAA State Tournament. Keith started out a little slow with a 185 game, but then posted a strong 214 and then finished with a GREAT 278 game. completing his season with a 677 series. The series earned him ALL-OHIO 1st TEAM honors with a 3rd place overall finish in the state. (Individual Results) Great end to a FABULOUS Fairmont bowling career.
