Game Recap
The Firebirds waited 5 days to finish off the Thunderbolts of Northmont, 6-5 in a GWOC National League Cross-Over game.
Chaney Morgan started the game and threw 5 1/3 before the game was suspended due to weather. However, after the reschedule, Morgan returned to the mound in the 7th inning in a tie game to pick up the win while striking out 5.
The Firebirds blew a 4 run lead in the 5th inning and squandered a bases loaded no out opportunity in the 6th inning, and still escaped with a walk off win in the 7th when Colton Hicks singled in Elliot Kurtz for the win.
Hicks finished the game going 3-4 with 2 rbi’s. Jesse Reliford added 2 hits and an rbi.
The win moved the ‘Birds to 14-9 on the year and 5-6 in the GWOC East.
