GWOC

This past Saturday, the Firebird cross country teams competed at the GWOC Championships held at Centerville High School.

The men were the first to race on the day and set the tone for the Firebirds! They improved their standing 2 spots overall from last year for a 5th place finish out of the 20 member schools. They were led by Senior Chase Brentlinger who took 4th overall which earned him 1st Team All-League (National) as well as being apart of the All-GWOC team. Junior Robert Pacenta also received 2nd Team All-GWOC honors when he placed 25th overall.

The women were also able to improve their overall standing in the GWOC up to a 9th place finish overall. They were led by Sophomore Meghan Donoher who took 31st place and earned 2nd Team ALL-League (National) honors.

The women’s Junior Varsity also took 9th place overall which is an huge improvement since there were not enough runners to even score as a team! Numbers are up and the team is improving!

The men’s Junior Varsity race was the best team performance of the day for the Firebirds with a 3rd place finish! The top 5 boys who scores for the Firebirds all placed in the top 25 overall and are all underclassman! Bright skies ahead for the Firebirds!
